Helping Young People Maintain Employment
Your Course Description
Youth Development
- Young people entering the workforce for the first time may not be prepared to handle the common challenges and obstacles they’ll face.
- Teaching about professional conduct and behavior will help them know what to expect when starting a new job.
- Instead of just hoping they’ll figure it out as they go, you can help set young people up for success in their first jobs. They’ll be able to carry what they learn into future positions and keep honing their skills.
Your Learning Objectives
- Learn about common challenges and obstacles that make it harder for young people to retain employment
- Gain tools that will help young people develop their employability skills
- Learn how to help young people understand professional conduct and behaviors employers value on the job
- Consider strategies for helping young job seekers meet basic performance expectations
- Please note: This particular training addresses youth employment from an individual lens, and wasn’t intended to dive into systemic reasons or structural factors about why young people face employment challenges. Watch for a future training from us that explores those broader views!
