Your Training Description

Technology and personal devices have myriad benefits. That is clear. We also know that device use is negatively impacting the wellbeing and learning of young people. It’s time for a shift toward Digital Wellbeing, a more balanced, intentional, and responsible use of technology. This interactive training will use evidence-based and positive youth development approaches along with research on the impacts of device use on learning and wellbeing to establish the need for Digital Wellbeing. Your trainer, KK Myers with LiveMore ScreenLess, will share youth voice and inspire you to play a role in supporting a shift to Digital Wellbeing at your organization.

Katherine Myers (KK) , founder and executive director of LiveMore ScreenLess is a seasoned educator with 25 years experience in the classroom. She holds a Master’s in Education. A former College Board Certified National Consultant, she prioritizes best practices for both young people and adults. KK is dedicated to fostering the wellbeing, learning, and leadership of young people by equipping adults to partner with and for young people. KK is true to the LiveMore ScreenLess mission by prioritizing her passion for lots of outdoor pursuits and playfulness - in the company of others.

Each of YIPA’s trainings are designed around a broad framework of eight youth work competencies. The competency focus of this training is: COMMUNICATIONS.
