Intercultural Engagement
- Historical trauma continues to impact communities of color everywhere. Having a big picture perspective of the many factors at play will help you be more aware of your own biases.
- You will then be able to more effectively engage in authentic and meaningful conversations surrounding race, trauma, and inequality with the youth you serve.
- Increase your awareness of the link between historical and intergenerational trauma, community challenges, and effective engagement with the African American community.

- Gain a better understanding of the link between historical trauma and the challenges faced by youth in the African American community
- Learn about culturally-sensitive, trauma-informed best practices
- Understand the importance of challenging your own conscious or unconscious perceptions and biases that could have unintended consequences
