Your Trainer

Alyssa Perau has been an Adolescent Health Specialist with Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota’s SELF team, Seeing and Exploring Life’s Future, since 2018. She is currently working towards her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Adler Graduate School and will additionally graduate with a specialty in Expressive Arts Therapy. Before coming to LSS she worked as a program counselor for adults with developmental disabilities, and for Cornerstone’s Day One Crisis Line where she received her certification as a sexual assault and domestic violence advocate. Through LSS she teaches sex education to people of all ages but focuses on working with youth and adults with developmental disabilities. She is certified in the curriculum Sexuality for All Abilities which she has taught in multiple transition programs, middle and high schools, Gigi’s Playhouse, and The Autism Society of Minnesota.
Reviewer Photo Leah Bauman-Smith is an educator and outreach specialist with Mad Hatter Wellness and Sexuality for All Abilities. Leah has a graduate degree in special education and a teaching certificate in sexuality education. She taught special education for 13 years and sexuality education for the past 10. Leah worked as a youth worker through the YMCA, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and as an outdoor guide. She loves having awkward conversations with teens and supporting people of all abilities in having healthy relationships.
Reviewer Photo Kendall Mager holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Women’s Studies and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She spent much of her undergraduate time working for the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin advocating for those living with HIV, as well as assisting in the facilitation of their LifePoint Needle Exchange Program. She has also worked as an advocate for survivors of both domestic and sexual violence in group and individual settings. Kendall joined Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in 2016 and currently holds the position of Program Coordinator of the Seeing and Exploring Life’s Future (SELF) program. In her role on the SELF team, Kendall provides comprehensive sexuality education to youth and adults across Minnesota, with a focus on disability-specific sexual health education and caregiver education.
