Communications
- Your position as a youth worker provides youth with a trusted and valuable resource – an askable adult. You need to know how to respond to their questions, even if you feel uncomfortable with the topic.
- Examining your own values, ensuring you have a wide cultural lens, and recognizing appropriate boundaries is part of building the skills to talk confidently and positively with youth about sexuality.
- Thinking about sexuality as broader than risk prevention will help expand the dialogue. Learn specific and age-appropriate strategies for talking with youth.

- Describe at least two ways sex education is broader than STI and pregnancy prevention
- Explore how young people benefit by talking about sexuality
- Examine the way your personal values can impact how you talk about sexuality with young people
- Identify age-appropriate strategies you will use when talking with young people about sexuality
