Youth Work is a Team Effort
Your Tool Description
The Field of Youth Work
- Youth work doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It’s built on partnership, collaboration, and trust with young people. You bring knowledge, skills, and experience to the relationship, but real growth happens when young people engage, share their ideas, and take an active role in shaping their own path.
- This learning tool will help you teach young people that youth work is a team effort. It’s not about telling them what to do or how to be, it’s about working together to explore their strengths, overcome challenges, and build confidence. When young people find their voice and take part in the process, youth work becomes a shared journey of growth, belonging, and empowerment.
- Why It's Important: When young people understand that youth work is not something done for them, it’s something done with them, they have an active role in shaping the work you do together. By learning about the shared responsibilities and purpose of youth work, both of you gain a deeper appreciation for the relationship itself. You strengthen trust and create an environment where growth happens naturally through collaboration.
