The Ethics of Friendship
Your Course Description
Ethics
- Friendships influence the person you are becoming. In this reflective Supplemental Micro Course (SMC), you will explore the ethics of friendship through the lens of Aristotle’s three types of friendships while reflecting on your own relationships and the influence they carry.
- You will develop skill in recognizing how friendships shape character, behavior, and ethical decision-making in both your life and the lives of young people.
- Youth workers who develop this skill are better equipped to help young people build friendships that strengthen character, support healthy decision-making, foster belonging, and encourage positive life choices, while recognizing and addressing peer influences that may undermine their well-being
