Kelly Felton enjoys empowering community leaders, organizations, and communities to ensure that all individuals have what they need to thrive. She currently is a Suicide Prevention Coordinator with the Minnesota Department of Health. Previously, she provided community substance abuse prevention training and technical assistance under supervision from the Minnesota Department of Human Services. She started in the prevention field in 2008 as the Coalition Coordinator for the Working Together Coalition in Minnesota. Her experience with community organizing and working within different systems has allowed her to understand how to influence community partners and systems to work together, making communities safer and healthier for all. Kelly helps community members understand their role in reducing risky behavior while promoting protective factors. When Kelly is not working she spends time with her husband John and their two children, Logan and Everly, in North Central Minnesota. They enjoy playing games, boating, camping, and spending time outside.
